Dusk Copper Earrings
Some pieces you put on at the end of the day and immediately feel something release. I made these for the women who need to mark the moment when the work is done and the evening begins - each one cut from a single strip of copper, brushed smooth by hand, then twisted turn by turn into its spiral form until the full two and a half inches have become what they were always going to be.
Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years by people who needed something to help them settle back into themselves, and the ones who come back to me always say the same thing: they stopped carrying what they used to carry.
These are among the last earrings I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find the shoulders that are ready to drop.
